Core Certification

Age Safe® America — Home Safety Certification

Through this training, I've completed coursework covering:

Fall Risk Awareness

Home safety and fall-risk awareness

Room-by-Room Assessments

Room-by-room aging-in-place assessments

Environmental Risk Reduction

Environmental risk reduction (lighting, pathways, bathrooms, stairs)

Respectful Communication

Respectful communication with resistant older adults

Ethical Boundaries & Scope

Clear ethical boundaries and scope-of-practice standards

This training emphasizes education, prevention, and common-sense safety planning—not medical advice or clinical care.

Additional Certification

Adult Mental Health First Aid USA

I am certified in Adult Mental Health First Aid USA through the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. This training prepared me to recognize common signs of mental health or substance use challenges, respond calmly, and support someone in connecting with appropriate professional help when needed. This certification supports my work with families by strengthening calm communication, crisis awareness, and practical first-response support within a non-clinical, non-medical scope.

Certified: June 4, 2026 — Valid for 3 years from effective date

This is not therapy, diagnosis, or emergency mental health care. Helping Mom provides practical, non-medical education and support, and I encourage families to contact licensed professionals or emergency services when a situation goes beyond that role.

Continuous Learning

Ongoing Education & Professional Development

Certification isn't a one-time checkbox. I maintain and expand my knowledge by:

Current Best Practices

Staying current with Age Safe® America updates and best practices

Continuing Education

Continuing education focused on aging-in-place safety

Specialized Knowledge

Ongoing learning related to vision, hearing, and mobility-friendly home environments

Clear Professional Boundaries

I intentionally remain outside medical or therapeutic practice, referring families to licensed professionals when concerns extend beyond environmental safety.
